The Program

1.1 – Organization

The Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFScar) has a participative management with professors and postgraduate students and is organized into an executive coordination and a deliberative council governed by program regulations.

1.2 – Courses and Newcomers

The Postgraduate Program in Linguistics (PGPL) offers degrees at the Master and Doctorate levels that are organized along three lines of research:

- Description, analysis and automatic processing of natural languages;

- Language teaching and learning;

- Language and discourse.

Admission of newcomers takes place once a year through a public selection divided into four stages:

- Analysis of the research project;

- A written methodological and theoretical test on linguistics;

- Foreign language proficiency test (for Portuguese native speakers) or second language (for foreign language speakers)

- Interview
